Civil Lawyer in Tbilisi

Contracts, obligations, property, damages and private-law disputes require a position built on facts, documents, deadlines and an enforceable remedy.

What civil law work usually involves

Civil law covers a wide range of private relationships: contractual obligations, payment disputes, ownership and possession, compensation for loss, unjust enrichment, agency, guarantees, consumer and service relationships and many other issues between individuals or companies. The legal question is rarely solved by identifying a single article of the Civil Code. It is necessary to understand what was agreed, what actually happened, which party had which obligation, what evidence exists and what remedy is still available.

In a dispute we examine the legal basis of the claim and the practical route to recovery. A technically valid claim may still be unattractive if evidence is weak, the limitation period is close, the defendant has no reachable assets or enforcement would be disproportionately difficult. Conversely, a well-documented position can sometimes be resolved through a focused demand or negotiation without a full trial.

Contracts and performance disputes

A contract should be read as an operating document, not as decorative legal language. We look at the subject of the agreement, delivery standards, acceptance, payment triggers, deadlines, liability, termination, governing law and dispute resolution. Where performance has already failed, the analysis changes: what notice was required, whether cure was possible, whether the breach was material and which remedy — performance, termination, damages, price reduction or another claim — is supported by the documents.

Commercial correspondence often becomes evidence. A response sent during a dispute should therefore be consistent with the contract and factual record. An emotional or overly broad admission may create unnecessary problems later. A short, accurate legal position is usually more useful than a long message mixing facts, assumptions and accusations.

Property, damages and other private claims

Civil cases can also involve ownership, use of property, damage to assets, reimbursement of expenses, return of property or money, or compensation for loss. The necessary evidence differs by claim. Registry records may prove title, but not every factual circumstance. In a damages case, causation and the amount of loss can be as important as proving the wrongful act itself. Expert evidence, invoices, photographs, valuations or technical records may therefore become central.

We assess not only whether a claim can be filed, but what order or judgment would solve the problem. The remedy should be drafted precisely enough to be enforceable. This is particularly important where the dispute concerns specific property, registration, a continuing obligation or a combination of monetary and non-monetary demands.

Civil cases we handle in Tbilisi

Our civil practice includes claims for payment and debt recovery, breach of contract, damages, ownership and possession disputes, inheritance conflicts, real-estate disputes, family-property issues and enforcement-related work. We act for both claimants and defendants. Depending on the case, representation may begin with a formal demand or negotiation and continue through interim measures, first-instance proceedings, appeal and enforcement.

Evidence in a civil case is often documentary: contracts, bank transfers, invoices, registry records, correspondence, notarial documents, expert material and witness evidence. We review what is already available and what must be obtained before the procedural deadline. Where property or recovery is at risk, we also consider whether an interim measure should be requested.

Court representation and enforcement

We prepare claims, defences, procedural motions, evidence submissions and appeals and represent clients at hearings. A judgment is not always the end of the matter. Where voluntary compliance does not follow, we advise on enforcement and on the practical position of the debtor or property concerned.

Before you contact us

For a civil dispute, send the main contract or document, a short chronology, the names of the parties, the amount or property in dispute and any court or enforcement deadline. If proceedings have already started, include the latest court document and the date it was served. This lets us identify the procedural stage without asking you to reconstruct the entire file during the first call.
